Fr. Jose Helio Cantu, LC was born in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico.  He entered the Legion of Christ in Monterrey, NL Mexico in 1996.  He completed his novitiate in Salamanca, Spain from 1996-1998.  His studies included Humanities in Cheshire, CT in 1998 and Philosophy in Thornwood, NY 1999-2001.   After which Fr Jose Helio went  to Curitiba, PR in Brazil from 2001-2004 for apostolic work.  Then began his studies again in Theology in Rome 2004-2007. Fr. Jose Helio was ordained a priest in the Basilica of St Mary Major in Rome in 2007. He worked at Curitiba, PR in Brazil with youth in 2007 – 2008. Since October 2008 he has worked in the United States:  from 2008-2010 as a Parish Vicar at the Sanctuary of our Lady of Guadalupe in Sacramento, CA and  from 2010-2011 as Parochial Vicar at our Lady of Guadalupe in Queen Creek, AZ.  At present he is the Parish Vicar at St Peter’s Church in Yonkers, NY where he preaches conferences and celebrates Mass and offers healing retreats among the Hispanic community in NY.
