SPIRITUAL EXERCISES are an opportunity to retreat from the hectic, noisy world and encounter Jesus Christ in a more profound and personal way. The retreat focuses on the gospels and the fullness of the Catholic faith, opening the soul to the transforming power of grace. Offered by the Legionaries of Christ, the retreat is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola and is comprised of guided meditations, private reflection, Mass, opportunities for Confession and spiritual direction.

Frequently asked questions?
What can I expect to happen on retreat?
You will have guided meditations as well as time for private reflection, daily Mass and the opportunity for Confession & spiritual direction with a Legionary of Christ priest.
Is it hard to be silent the entire weekend?
You will have an opportunity to talk with others at Friday night's dinner and with a priest during spiritual direction. The silence will provide you with the opportunity to be open to the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Will I share a bedroom?
You will have a private room with a sink. The bathroom's are dorm style with shower/bath stalls. There is 1 room available with private bathroom for those in need at the Peekskill, NY location. The Beacon, NY facility provides private rooms with private bathrooms.
What should I bring?
All linens and meals are provided so come as if you are going to a hotel. Casual clothing is appropriate with a dressier outfit for the final Mass on Sunday. A watch and an alarm clock are helpful to have. Bring your Bible and we will provide a retreat booklet with room for taking notes.
Aren't retreats just for holy people?
Retreats are not just for holy people; quite the opposite! When was the last time you spent in prayer? Is your prayer life dry? Are you looking for purpose in your life? Regardless of where you are in your personal spiritual journey, spiritual exercises will be a life changing experience!
