Advent by Candlelight
A Women's Evening of Reflection - Come prepare your hearts for Jesus' birth!

We’ve already seen the decorations in the stores. The season is almost upon us. We’ll make our lists and check them twice… the cards, the decorating, the shopping, the baking, the wrapping, the packing, the “Holiday” merry making. How does the birth of the Christ Child fit into all this?

And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people;  for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.".
LUKE 2:10-12

Advent by Candlelight is a beautiful evening that brings women together to focus on the true meaning of this Blessed Season. When you arrive you will find the room filled with tables each uniquely set and decorated by the table hostesses. These ladies have invited you as their personal guest and want to make you feel welcome and share with you a moment of faith. During the night you will hear two talks on Advent preparation, share a warm drink & dessert with friends, and enjoy a festive spirit!

  Thursday, December 3rd
  7pm to 9pm
  Church of Resurrection Parish Hall
910 Boston Post Rd, Rye, NY 10580
$10 suggested payment to cover costs appreciated
Speakers   Sister Danielle Marie Baran, CR

REQUEST TO BE A TABLE GUEST - we have a few openings and then will start a waiting list
Hostess deadline Mon, Nov 16th; table guest deadline Mon, Nov 30th.

As a table hostess you’ll host 7 of your family and friends for coffee, tea and dessert. You’ll send the invitations. You’ll come early and decorate your table as you wish, with tablecloths, Nativity sets, fine china or paper products; however you like! The only requirement is that your table have the four advent candles on it. These candles will create the peaceful setting for the evening. You’ll bring dessert and the tea flavors, we’ll provide the coffee and hot water. Enjoy serving your guests as if they were in your own home. Consider this evening your Advent gift to them. Perhaps you’ll send them home with a prayerful favor. Allow your creativity to set a beautiful place where our hearts will make room for our Lord! Feel free to co-host with a friend.

NYC Advent Mission | Dec 11, 13 & 14 | St Patrick's Old Cathedral
Earlier this year, Pope Francis announced an Extraordinary Jubilee to highlight the Catholic Church's "mission to be a witness of mercy." The Holy Year of Mercy will commence in Rome on December 8th, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception with the opening of the Holy Doors of St. Peter’s, and with them, special indulgences. The Holy Doors will come to our very own St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral parish in New York on December 13th. This year’s mission will be organized as a pilgrimage from the Basilica to the parish’s Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood in Little Italy, where the doors will be located.
